Dyno tune results 320 hp @ 4600 rpm and 397 lb
ft of torque at 3500 rpm

Not bad considering I am running 2.78 - 1 highway
gears and that the engine is detuned (as per my request) so it does not
ping under load, even if I am in a tall gear!
. Initial (before) results were 269 hp @ 4600 rpm and 359 lb ft of
torque at 3100 rpm.
The tires and wheels have arrived and been mounted, check
them out!
Piece by piece, while the body is
getting replacement panels, I have had time to take a few of the
mechanical parts and restore them to a functional and fresher looking
part.
After the cracked exhaust flange on the head got welded. I
reassembled the 428 engine and took some photos. Next I decided to get
the Lemans Valve covers out, and temporarily place them on the engine,
to see what it looked like. It looks a lot nicer, check it out!
The first set of parts belongs to the front end assembly, with the
purchase of the 1970 mustang disc brake front suspension, it was time to
go over the two assemblies mechanically and aesthetically.
Along
with this, several parts have been restored, and chromed. It seems like
a long time (years) which it has been before the Mustang is ready to see
the 428 dropped in for the first time!
The worst news was yet to come,
the used 428 was not any good, it was out of balanced badly and had poor
clearances on the bearings. It had to come out again!
