Flying the A-4 Skyhawk II

When it comes to flying close at speed, there doesn't seem to ever be anyone to compare to the fabulous "Blues."
Most definitely my favorite aerobatic team to watch, as a child.
I am pleased to be able to share with you some older photos of the Blue Angels in the A-4 Skyhawk 2.

Construction of the A-4 Skyhawk began as the XA4D-1 prototype September 1953. Originally designed for the US Navy and Marines, 2,405 attack aircraft and 555 trainers had been built by the time production ended in 1979. Power was the Wright J65-W-2 Turbojet. The later versions used the Pratt & Whitney J52-P-8A engine and the Skyhawk II used the J52-P-408 engine (11,200 lb st)
