Bilstein Shocks and Electric Exhaust Cutouts
Back Up Next

A couple of the best mods that I have done to the Shelby. First were the Bilstein Sport shocks. No more bottoming out, and a very modern feel to the suspension.

Next was adding electric exhaust cut outs to the resonators. What this does is allows at the flick of a switch to have the exhaust run through the mufflers only (louder) or through the mufflers and the sound canceling resonators (quiet). This is not the typical open header configuration. The exhaust is always going through the mufflers. What happens, with an engine this size, is the exhaust tends to drone at about 2000 rpm and is much noisier under load. So on a long cruising trip, where you want to listen to the radio or have a quiet conversation with the passenger, you can do that. When you want to be cruising with the other hot rods, and show off your muscle, then you can do that too!
