The 1969 Mustang started life as a car with a bad
engine and a front end off of a 1970 Mustang. So a 1970 Mustang on the
front, and a 1969 (correct) body for the rest of the car. Someone had
put a Maverick Grabber hood scoop on the car, so that it looked like a
Boss 429 Mustang.
It evolved quite a bit, as it had 2 major accidents, the second
facilitating the replacement of the whole front end, converting it
back to the correct 1969 Mustang front end. At that time we added the
correct Ford bolt on composite (non functional) hood scoop with the
built in turn signal indicators.
The engine was the venerable 1969 351 Windsor 4V. Often playing
second fiddle to the 351 Cleveland. The Windsor was taken in for
repair, the not so skilled mechanic damaged the cam gear and oil pump
drive shaft. The engine was taken apart, and rebuilt. I remember it
being very torqy after the rebuild. this car was traded in on the
Shelby on the following page. PS you can tell by the plates, that this
was my wife's car ;-)
